A Miracle has happened!!!
On Baby Loss Awareness Week we also have to remember that a lot of the families who have suffered with pregnancy or infant loss did not give up on trying for a second chance of having a beautiful heathy baby in their arms to love forever.
Many families go through rough periods of trying, hoping failing, back on track again and for some, the turn around is just magic… The big news of having a RAINBOW BABY on the way just blows away happiness mixed with anxiety and uncertainty… The fear of failing or loosing again is on the back of their minds the whole time but with hopes up, these blessed families keep on going with a huge smile on their faces.
I have been wanting to launch a Blog on our Website for a few months now and due to the crazy busy time shooting and editing I have been delaying the first blog post that I already had planned for ages… I just think now is the right moment to finally launch our blog with such a special story of a family that has inspired many others. This is the story of the Luca’s and we are sharing it to say to all these families that are honouring these little lives lost too soon this week that everything could be possible and a miracle can happen when you less expect.
I am so happy that Natalie and Melvyn after even being on TV filming their journey for 2 years (on the TV SHOW INCONCEIVABLE) with their story of 10 years trying for a baby, they can finally say that their long run had a happy end… and what a “cute” happy end… Please meet baby Thea and their journey;
"We married in England in 2005 and like most couples had a "plan" on what our future with kids looked like. We decided to start trying for a baby in 2007 and thought that within a couple months we would be pregnant. A couple of months soon became a couple years and we found ourselves wondering if it was ever going to happen.We moved to New Zealand in 2010. It was such an amazing country and we really wanted to bring our children up here. We still found ourselves longing for a child and month after month we had no success.We decided to get help and do some investigations into why we weren't becoming pregnant and visited a fertility clinic. After several tests we were diagnosed as having Unexplained Infertility. This means exactly that, they cant explain why we aren't getting pregnant.We decided to start fertility treatment. We had 3 months of Clomiphene treatment and then 3 months of IUI (inter uterine Insemination aka Turkey Baster method) on the third cycle of IUI we fell pregnant for the first time in 6 years. It was amazing and so exciting. We didn't think for one second that anything would go wrong. Regrettably we were wrong and at 9 weeks we had our first miscarriage.We decided to do two more cycles of fertility treatment but both of these resulted in negative pregnancy tests.We decided to take a break over Christmas and have no more treatment until the new year. In January my period was a day late and we decided to take a pregnancy test and it was positive! We were naturally pregnant!Two days after this wonderful news I started bleeding and we found out that I had an ectopic pregnancy, my Fallopian tube had ruptured and had to be removed and I was bleeding internally.This was heartbreaking for us.We continued on with our lives as best we could, we have always been the type of people who dust ourselves off and try again. 3 months later we found out that we were pregnant again and naturally. This time we were too scared to get our hopes up and decided to not get excited about the pregnancy. A week later I was in hospital again, miscarrying our 3rd baby.The pain was too much to bare, losing 3 babies in 18 months took its toll on us and we were emotionally drained. We decided to take a break from it all...we needed to heal.6 months later we were pregnant for the 4th time. I decided that this time I was going to do things differently and celebrated this little miracle from the moment I saw the positive test.Thea Natalie Lucas was born on the 5th August 2017 after 9 years trying to conceive and 3 miscarriages. Doctors had told us we have less then 5 percent chance of getting pregnant each month( even less with one Fallopian tube) and against all odds we managed to convince Thea naturally.Ours is a story of hope. We are so grateful for our little rainbow baby and having the shoot with Marina capturing those special moments after years of heartbreak left us feeling overwhelmed with happiness.Thank you Marina for your kind heart and celebrating these special little babies that certainly represent beautiful rainbows after the storm.
